Social Programme

As every year, the Conference Dinner is an opportunity for the attendant Polar Community to chill out and informally interact.

This year, the dinner will be at Olaria, a terrace restaurant and bar that is concomitantly a training room for the local Professional School of Tourism. Olaria is in a historical and emblematic building that previously was the old ceramics factory Jerónimo Pereira de Campos, with an unprecedent view over the Central canal of the Aveiro lagoon.

Our proposal is to meet at Largo do Rossio by 18:45 and take a short Moliceiro boat transfer ride to the restaurant. The Moliceiro boats are traditional boats that have for centuries been used in the harvesting and transportation of moliço (a seaweed used as a fertilizer) in Ria de Aveiro. They are carefully decorated by their owners, often translating satiric messages or reflecting day-to-day situations. Currently, these boats are used only for recreational purposes.

The Dinner menu will be composed by the couvert, a sea soup, a main course (codfish or pork meat), a dessert and drinks (water, juices, wine).

The whole experience will cost 17.50 €, which are not included in the registration fee. If you wish to join us for this experience, please tick the corresponding option in the registration form and confirm by adding the amount to the registration fee while paying (the receipt will not discriminate fee and dinner).
